New work coming in on other projects around the country.

This last week has been busy with Simon our master boat builder going round the country surveying new projects for the company to do over the winter months. This time he was in Scarborough north Yorkshire looking at a Yorkshire Cobble in need of a bit of TLC and a new engine.

Just got to have the boat moved and a tent built over it and then the work can begin and get another classic boat back in the water next spring.

More work on Reveller

Starting to cut out more planks to fit into the bottom and start to fill up the big hole in the bottom

Three planks in place and marking out the fourth plank ready to fit in place.

Same area just a different view.

The fourth plank has been cut and is now ready to fit in place once the third plank is fixed in place.

A new week ahead and another week on the road for the team at J-Star Boat Services.

This week is going to be a very busy week with travelling around the country from Herefordshire to North Yorkshire for one job then off to Derbyshire for another job before getting back to Suffolk to do some work on my own boat at the end of the week.

So all in all a busy week all round. Watch this space for updates on our progress over the week.

Showing the new Mai-Star Class dinghy at the Essex Country Show

For the second year J-Star Boat Services was showing their new Mai-Star Class dinghy at the Essex Country Show. This year the hull almost finished apart from two planks on the starboard side and one on the port.

There was a great deal of interest in the new dinghy and a number of leads to follow up over the coming months.

Along side the new dinghy there was interest in the methods and tools used to build the dinghy and the way many of the parts are made for the dinghy and other classic boats that J-Star Boat Services presently work on and one that it as worked on in the past.
